How Dryve Works

Dryve is a pure mathematical ranking engine for the Egyptian passenger car market. We do not write editorial reviews, accept advertiser sponsorships, or publish opinion pieces. Every score represents a computed market percentile.

The Data Pipeline

From raw specifications to normalized ranking metrics.

Aggregation

We compile verified specifications directly from official Egyptian distributor brochures and regulatory registration sheets.

Normalization

Raw statistics (such as torque, dimensions, and fuel efficiency) are scaled and normalized on a zero-to-one index.

Pillars

Normalized inputs are weighted and combined into six core pillars evaluating specific ownership dimensions.

Percentile

Final models are ranked relative to their direct segment rivals. A score represents their market percentile ranking.

We analyze every vehicle across six dimensions, evaluating scores using verified weights.

Performance

Evaluates engine capacity, forced induction (Turbo/Supercharged), horsepower, peak torque, and transmission design for drivetrain responsiveness.

Safety

Measures occupant safety through active safety features, passive safety (airbag counts), advanced ADAS packages, and global crash test ratings.

Tech & Comfort

Scores infotainment screen sizes, digital instrument clusters, cabin comfort utilities, climate systems, and premium audio integrations.

Running Costs

Combines official fuel consumption figures, estimated maintenance schedules, insurance premiums, and localized registration tariffs.

Cabin Size

Measures vehicle wheelbase length, cabin layout efficiency, luggage trunk capacity, headroom clearances, and segment passenger comfort.

Value for Money

A dynamic rating comparing the overall statistical scores of the vehicle relative to its market pricing compared to direct competitors.

Understanding Percentile Ranks

Rather than using arbitrary star ratings, every score index is a representation of percentile standing.

Percentile Rank = (Count of Cars with Lower Score / Total Active Cars) * 100

Therefore, a score of 92 indicates the vehicle outclasses 92% of the comparative segment in the Egyptian market. A score of 50 represents exact market average.
